DEPARTMENTAL PROFILE

The Biotechnology and Food Processing department was established in 2008. This department conducts both undergraduate and postgraduate programs (B. Sc (Hons) Biotechnology, B. Voc Food Processing and M. Sc Biotechnology). The seats allowed for the particular courses are- B. Sc (Hons) Biotechnology: 40, B. Voc Food Processing: 50 and M. Sc Biotechnology: 30.

Biotechnology is a broad discipline that utilizes biological systems, living organisms, cells or cellular parts of this to develop or create different technologies and products. It has offered modern medical devices for various diagnostic and preventive purposes that include diagnostic test kits, vaccines and radio-labelled biological therapeutics which are used for imaging and analysis. Biotechnology has played a great dynamic role in improving the challenges regarding to human health as it has the flexibility to reduce global health differences by the provision of promising technologies. Health, life quality and expectancy of life have been increased worldwide through the services provided by biotechnology.

DEPARTMENTAL PROFILE

The Department of Commerce in this college of very recent origin. It was established during the session 2014 on self-finance basis. Under this department B.com and M.com courses are being run. There are 60 seats in B.com course and 30 Seats in M.com course. Department is well under the fully qualified teachers and has regularly shown excellent results in B.com and M.com Classes. Besides the educational programme the department has been organized Workshop, Seminar etc. relating to the field of commerce.

The Department of computer Science has been successfully functioning since 2008 as the ASBASJSM College organization started PGDCA. The department offers M.Sc. (Information Technology) , PGDCA and BCA . The Department comprises of 3 fully Air Conditioned Computer Labs with 60 systems, state of the art computing facilities with sufficient power supply backup and internet facility.

Our College decided to start sports department in the year 1976. Physical education as a subject in year 2011. H.O.D of this department is D.P.E Pritpal Singh. Total number of seats in the programme is 80. A career in physical education can lead you to a wide range of career option from being a sports person to health clubs, sports good manufacturer, marketing, commentator, sports journalist, trainer and many other career roles. Fitness specialist personal trainer, fitness director. Health educator. Health education aims to provide knowledge and skills to empower pupils to lead healthy lifestyles and to take responsibility for the health and well- being of others and the environment. The sports sector includes various disciplines such as sports finance, facilities and event management, sports medicine and sponsorships.
