The college is affiliated to Punjabi University and is running successfully various courses like M.A. Punjabi , M.Voc(Food Processing) , M.Com, M.Sc.(Mathematics), M.Sc.(I.T.), M.Sc.(BioTech), PGDCA, PGDJMC, B.Sc.(Non Medical), B.Sc.(Biotechnology), B.Sc.(Computer Applications), B Com , B.C.A., B.B.A., B.A. and various add on courses affiliated to Punjabi University.

B.Com Professional is an integrated course comprising consisting of two semesters. The course of study of B.Com shall be divided into six semesters and university examination will be held at the three years. Each part will end of every semester.

Scope of B.Com.

Commerce being the life blood of an organization has gain tremendous momentum in the recent years. It has also created multiple job opportunities in both the government as well as private sector. Where 18th century belonged to U.K., 19th and 20th century belonged to USA and, 21st century belongs to India and China. This has emerged a call for the managers of global scenario. In similar fashion, India will be requiring about 10 lakh management professionals in the next few years. Thus, it has floated a great opportunity for management the professionals in India.

There is good scope for aspirants who have completed their bachelor’ degree in Commerce, both in terms of higher education as well as for immediate jobs. Education in the concerned field is an excellent base for a variety of careers. On successful completion of B.Com, aspirants can apply for jobs relating business and finance. Professionals can apply for employment in finance sector like banking, company secretary ship, and chartered accountancy, Cost and works accountancy jobs. They can also apply for non-finance sector jobs in mass communication, law, hotel management, civil services, and so on.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERION

1. The examination in B.Com.Part-I shall be open to a student who produces the following certificates to the Principal of the college.

(i) of having passing at least +2 examination of Punjab School Education Board or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least :

(a) 40% marks in the aggregate in case of students who have passed 10+2 Commerce group.

OR

(b)45% marks in the aggregate in case of student who have passed 10+2 in Humanities group with at least two out of Commerce/Accounts/Math/ Economics/Management papers.

OR

(c)50% marks in the aggregate in case of students who have passed 10+2 but not covered under (a) and (b) above; provided that candidate placed under reappear in not more than one subject in 10+2 examination of Punjab School Education Board or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto shall also be eligible to this course but such candidates shall have to clear reappear subject in the supplementary examination of the same year failing which his admission to B.Com. Professional Part I course shall automatically stand cancelled.

OR

(d) Students who opt for any one of the following Vocational subjects, in B.Com.Part I should have passed with atleast 50% marks, 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto:

a. Office Management and Secretarial Practice.

b. Principle and Practice of Insurance.

c. Tax Procedure and Practice.
