Honesty is a fact of moral character that connotes positive and virtuous attributes such as integrity, truthfulness, straightforwardness of conduct along with the absence of lying, cheating, theft etc. No legacy is so rich as honesty.

To make honesty a practice in routine life AmarShaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College, Bela(Rupnagar) inaugurated a “Shop of Honesty”in college campus on 8 August, 2019. The objective behind this initiative is to inculcate the habit of honesty among students. The idea of working of this shop makes it unique from other shops. In this shop all the necessary stationery items which are required by students in their daily college schedule such as copies, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpners, etc. are provided. There is no seller in this shop. The students themselves take the items required by them and keep the amount in the cash box of this for value received by them. The shop is based on non-profit motive. The mechanism behind working of this shop is just to make students honest in their dealings. The legacy of honesty is the foundation of success and wisdom.

A team of faculty members manages the working of this shop and keep record of the daily stock outflow and amount collected.
